Klaviyo orders, sent from the server

Whence records each order in Klaviyo as Placed Order, from the server, with the customer details your flows need.

What Whence sends

Each step leaves the server as it happens, under the name Klaviyo expects. You choose the steps in Whence.

Counted once

Each order carries a unique ID, so Klaviyo records it once. If Klaviyo’s own Shopify integration already syncs your orders, give Whence another metric name so your flows do not start twice.

Match quality, in plain sight

For each Klaviyo destination, Whence shows the share of events that carried each customer detail over the last seven days, so you can see what helps Klaviyo recognize your buyers.

Set it up

Install Whence on your store

The Shopify app turns on in one click. Elsewhere, the WordPress plugin or one script.

Paste your private API key

Klaviyo > Settings > Account > API keys > Create Private API Key > Custom Key: give Events "Full Access" (write) and Accounts "Read Access" (used to check the key). The key starts with pk_. Warning: if Klaviyo's Shopify integration already syncs your orders, you will get each order twice unless you set a different metric name below.

Send a test

Klaviyo has no test mode: Whence checks your setup without sending a sale.

Good to know If Klaviyo's own Shopify integration already syncs your orders, it already records "Placed Order": sending it again from Whence would count each order twice and could trigger your post-purchase flows twice. Either turn off order syncing there, or give Whence a different metric name below. Klaviyo has no test mode: every order sent is real.
